Loti - grandson of famous Khoda (native dog from Kazbegi a.k.a Kazbeguri). 80-82 cm, about 75-80 kg.

famous Georgian native dog by name Tugo. born 1995 in Kazbegi. height 75cm, head 65 cm, chest 102 cm, girth of muzzle 35 cm, bite - slightly undershot.
this dog had two hard contacts with the bears in the mountains of Georgia to protect livestock and survived but was seriously wounded. after a while organized fight against tame bear in Ossetia

I guess he is game if has to be game. 8-) Cool dog.

i think he was not a real game like a gamebred dogs but he had an incredible strength of spirit and many of his descendants had a similar strength of spirit

Yes, the gameness of "game dogs" for sure is unmatched. I just mean some dogs were game defending their owners for example to protect their lives.

So how did this dog survive? Did humans come to the rescue or did he end up fighting or scaring the bear off?

he attacked the bear and saved cows. humans do not come to the rescue but bear left out. this happened twice

i do not know. possibly bear was young. usually young bears come so near. i'll ask person who knows more about these cases. he lives in Georgia and he is the most knowledgeable person on Georgian native dogs i've ever known

i got the answer from a friend. he says that the bears came at night and no one was able to determine the age of the bears. but in his opinion bears was a grown

Awsome! Just shows you the guarding ability of a Volkodav and its ability to take on a much larger predator.

I have heard leopards are common in Georgia? What are the interactions between the Volkodavs and leopards like? Have you ever heard of an physical interaction between them? If so how did it end?

Yes I believe it would be a great fight. But I think claws are overrated they are uasally not fight Enders or changers but it is another weapon. Honestly the best weapon of the leapord is actually its bite.
