That dog is stunning. I love his big powerful neck and proud stance.

Yeah, the neck is quite long, but really powerful. Impressive, athletic and graceful animal. 8-)

Looks very strong and impressive, but in my personal taste I probably prefer the ones bandog posts, including that last one. You seem to have heaps of good volkodav pics bandog, or at least ones I like.

Both great looking dogs. The last one looks like a pretty capable "running type".

Actually I would love to breed the first Volkodav to the second one, if they were male and female as it would be the perfect balance between power & stamina! 8-)

I should have been more precise. The dog in the first post is my favourite phenotype when it comes to LGDs. My all time favourite phenotype looks like that:  However both dogs have something in common concerning their type, although you can see in just one second which one is the LGD and which one the "Veantre/Running Mastiff". They also have a similar head type.
P.S. I like the "Alaunt Veantre type" or "running mastiff type" more than any LGD and a 1000 times more than any "Bullmastiff type".

@ Bandog
I have just realized that the Volkodav you have posted has the same head shape (the side profile) as the GM in the old drawing.

These German Mastiffs have heads like Presas and very strong and long necks. Beside that they have a totally different build than a Presa, but the head type is the same.
